Taege Seed Drills

 

This Autumn we tested and demonstrated  this Taege seeder extensively and were very impressed with the performance.

We then went back and took photos of the pasture in late October, as you can see great pasture, in what was quite difficult stony terrain.

Take a look at how well the tine design follows the ground, resulting in excellent seed placement.

The harrows also do a good job with impressive trash handling.

Taege Seed Drills

      FRAME

-          3 row galvanised frame – better trash flow & won’t rust

TYNES

-          12 x 45mm Extra heavy duty “s” tynes – great for ground penetration

-          The tynes are arranged in a special configuration & angle – for better trash flow & penetration.

-          The tynes are excellent in shattering the ground to give a good tilth

-          Flexible & excellent in rocky conditions and able to move around & over large rocks

-          Contour following is achieved because of the tip entry angle, both in varying & uneven surfaces.

-           Trash clearance is excellent because of the tyne movement, spacing and stagger

-          Tyne spacing’s are 121mm or 150mm

BOOTS

-          Three piece cast boot

-          Nihard casting with tungsten tip

-          Has two outlets (front fertilizer, rear seed )

-          Excellent ground penetration

-          700-800 hectares is normal time for tip replacement

HARROWS

-          Two row flat levelling harrows

-          Front row are a bigger diameter tyne than the rear

-          The Tyne harrows are normally fitted in 2 pieces; they articulate, pivot and rotate. Allowing for better contour following.

-          Excellent coverage and levelling is achieved in cultivated ground and when direct drilling.

-          When not required they can be lifted out of the way.

HOPPERS

-          The drill can have one/two/three hoppers at any one time depending on the configuration.

-          405ltr capacity for a 3.0mtr hopper

-          485ltr capacity for a 3.6mtr hopper

-          The hoppers are mounted high for better seed delivery – hilly conditions

-          Hoppers can be used for either seed/fertilizer

-          The seed hopper come std with an agitator to help with even seed distribution

-          Option to be able to put in small seed inserts in the hoppers(eg clover seed)

-          Fertilizer hoppers & collector trays come std in stainless steel

METERING SYSTEM

-          The patented Sponge roller seed system is very accurate & does not damage the seed.

-          Handles most types of seeds & seed mixers

-          Sponge rollers are easily removed for cleaning & storage

-          Collector trays slide away for easy calibration & broad cast sowing

                                   They can be turned around

-          Calibration trays fits under the full length of the sponges for easy calibration

-          Sponge protectors are available to protect rollers from rodents, birds, etc.

                                 No need to empty hoppers over night

      ELECTRIC DRIVE

-          Standard on all trailing units

-          Electric motor (wheel chair motors) with reduction gearbox.

-          3:1 chain reduction

     RC 300 RATE CONTROLLER

-          Accurate electronic control from the tractor cab.

-          Easy Calibration.

-          Settings for one, two or three hoppers.

-          Stores up to 25 crop settings per hopper.

-          Stores the last 5 area resets for each of the twenty five crop settings.

-          Naming for each hopper and crop for easy identification.

-          Target weights from 0.00 – 999.90kg/ha for each crop setting.

-          Very quick and easy to calibrate.

-          Ability to increase or decrease seeding rate on the move from your tractor seat.

-          Switch to any of these saved settings and start drilling even without the need to re-calibrate.

-          Each crop can have an alternate rate programmed, so that a second seeding rate can be switched instantly at the push of a button.

-          This feature is excellent when repairing pasture.
